When on rolling shutter mode, artifacts are caused since every row in a frame is exposed at different times. The exposure of consecutive rows starts sequentially - resulting in deformations (or rolling shutter artifacts) in the output image while capturing moving objects. Conversely, the global shutter mode uses a mechanism that produces non-distorted images without wobble or skewing.

As mentioned above, rolling shutter artifact occurs in the output image when the object moves too fast within the exposure time, and its position varies between the start and end of exposure times. The higher the exposure time or speed of the target object, the higher the artifacts. A global shutter camera can capture images in a single moment of time. There's no need for rolling or scanning, as with the rolling shutter. Hence, it can eliminate skewing and distortions in the captured images.
